Avid Media Composer Co-Installation With Pro Tools
Pro Tools 8.0 is supported for co-installation on the same computer with Avid Media Composer 3.5. For more information, see the following:
Pro Tools LE 7.4 for Windows XP is the only version of Pro Tools qualified for co-installation with Avid Media Composer v3.0. For more information, see the following:
Avid Xpress Pro Co-Installation With Pro Tools
If using an Avid video peripheral with Pro Tools
Pro Tools and Avid Xpress Pro share certain components, and both applications need to see the correct version of those components. Therefore every release of Pro Tools is tested for co-installation with a particular version of Avid Xpress Pro software. This means that you can install both applications on the same boot drive without losing functionality in either application. The supported combinations are shown below. Upgrading either application will likely result in breaking the other.

Note: Pro Tools HD/LE 7.4 and higher have not been qualified for co-installation with Avid Xpress Pro.
If not using an Avid video peripheral with Pro Tools
If you do not wish to use an Avid video peripheral with Pro Tools, you can install virtually any version of Xpress Pro on the same boot drive as your Pro Tools system. However, if you experience problems using AudioSuite plug-ins in Xpress Pro, you will need to update to one of the approved combinations above.
